IN MEMORY OF SHERRILL “SHAUN” NIELSEN 1942 – 2010 Associated Press:   Famous Southern Gospel Singer and Elvis Presley’s favorite singer, Sherrill  “Shaun” Nielsen, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, December 10, 2010.  His  devoted wife, Brenda Shelton-Nielsen was at his side.  Preceding him in death was Sherrill and Brenda’s precious daughter, SherRee’ Elicia, who was killed by a drunk driver on her 20th   birthday. Little did the world know what to expect when Sherrill was born.  God gave him one of the  most amazing tenor voices today.  Sherrill travelled and performed over a 50 year span with  groups like:  Jake Hess and the Imperials, Hovie Lister and the Statesmen, the Masters V, the  Songfellows, the Plainsmen, the Marksmen, TomPaul and the Glaser Brothers.  He formed a  group call “VOICE” that opened all of the Elvis Presley Shows and then became a backup artist to Elvis, doing all those beautiful duets with Elvis.   Sherrill lived in his grandfathers great  country of Denmark for 14 years until he moved to Houston, Texas and remarried the love of his life, Brenda.  Since 2005, Sherrill and Brenda have travelled all over the world singing  together.  Make sure you order one of the priceless CD’s that will preserve the sound of Sherrill for many years to come.  The Nielsen family wants to thank each of you for your support, love and kindness during this very difficult time.
